Unfortunately, you have to sand it down and start over.

I have another problem. I cleared a hood, had to do more work, then cleared it again and the second round of clear wrinkled. It does not seem to be affecting the previous coats of clear. Can I fix this without sanding all the paint off? This hood was a lot of work. I would hate to do it over.

You can try. Wet sand with 1000 grit, then 1500. Make sure you get through the wrinkled area. Wait a day or more before re-clearing again. That may have been your initial problem. Some clears take 24 hours to fully cure. They may be "dry", but not cured. I had similar problems when I did jambs on a car, then did the outside of the car right away. The base coat reacted with the clear that leaked out from behind the doors. Made a mess....... Not hard to fix, good thing it wasn't a candy apple job though.....

Hey man, thanks for the help. Your trick worked. I sanded the wrinkled area down with 1000 wetordry, then the whole hood with 1500 wetordry, then I waited a week. I sprayed my first coat of clear very dry, then waited a half hour. No wrinkles, so I continued. After 3 nice, wet coats, the clear came out flat as glass. You really saved me a bunch of extra work, thanks.

You can get one fairly cheap on eBay. Mine cost under $100.00
