Unfortunately, there is no one willing to grab the sites. There was another shop that never opened, with a similar name. When I went to register the business, I had to use a different version because there was a corporation already registered with my chosen name. This was 3 or 4 years ago. I dug into it and found the shop with "Coming soon" signs, but that shop is still empty with the same "Coming soon" signs still up. It's amazing how someone can leave a building empty for that long.

I am always amazed at that. If you ride around, you will see buildings for rent that were for rent a year ago or more. I cant figure out how people dont lose the building when they leave it empty.

One guy told me he gets a break on his taxes if he doesn't rent. I guess he pays alot of taxes or it wouldn't be worth leaving the building empty. I'm not sure if that works in other places, but it works on Long Island. That's why you see a half-empty strip mall and a new one going up a half mile down the same road, with some of the same stores in that mall as well. go figure......
We've become a society of "consume everything" including land and other resources. I could go on all day about the farm that is closed down, only to be replaced by 200 condo units. More traffic, less food. Good plan.... How about all the body shops and repair shops that close down, to be replaced by drug stores? That's a whole other can of worms. Drug stores. Why do we need 3 or 4 on every corner?

I'm glad I"m not the only one who noticed the "body shops to drug stores" weirdness. It's happening all over. We're an over-medicated race of locusts. Consume everything until there's nothing left to consume. I hope the planet lasts long enough for us to figure out we're killing it.

The planet will chew us up and spit us out before we kill it.

Don't fall for the hype. First of all, there is no such thing as "Global Warming". That is something that was dreamed up to make the electric cars a reality. The guy who came up with the "hole in the ozone layer" myth, has long since recanted his findings and said in plain English "I made a mistake". That didn't matter, an entire movement was founded on the false information and the people behind an in that movement will fight you to the death that the false information is in fact real.
It is a known scientific fact that the world's climate changes on its own and no amount of carbon dioxide emissions will change that. In fact, according to several reliable sources, the world is about 1000 years overdue for a major climate change. Will that climate change wipe us out? Highly doubted. What it may do is make NYC and Seattle swap climates with Miami and Los Angeles. Living in NYC< I don't see that as a bad thing.
That said, I do think we need to take better care of the atmosphere. Not because I fear we are changing the climate, but because I think we need good air to breathe.
Did you know that in the past, changes were made to paint systems, not to protect people, but simply to protect the air? Lacquer is much less toxic to enhale than urethane is, yet lacquer is outlawed because of environmental concerns. Now they want us to switch to water based paint. I have always said, when that becomes mandatory, I will no longer be painting. I don't care what they say about how great the new paint is, I have used it and it sucks to work with.

I tried water based airbrush paint. I do not like it.

It sucks, is an understatement.... I won't use it for airbrushing, or painting. If I have to, i will stop painting and airbrushing for good.
